One day workshop
This one-day workshop is ideal for all health professionals with a role in caring for patients with cancer. CBT has been shown to enhance quality of life, increase meaningful activity, hope and improve self esteem for people with cancer.
Delegates will develop skills in helping patients learn to cope with their condition and to maximise their quality of life. This includes promoting wellbeing and resilience in people who have been successful treated for cancer, helping people to cope with physical symptoms such as pain, managing emotional factors and end of life care.
This introductory 10 Minute CBT workshop is suitable for a wide range of health professionals and other practitioners who work with people affected by cancer. This may include GPs, community and hospital-based nursing staff, hospital specialists, palliative care teams, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, complementary therapists and support workers.
The training is suitable for people with little or no background or training in CBT, as well as those with more experience of CBT who wish to learn how to adapt CBT training to a brief setting.
